Meet Clyde Dearman! Clyde is the Director of Pharmacy and Health Risk Management at Vantage Health Plan. Clyde has worked for Vantage Health Plan for 11 years, starting in January of 2009. Learn more about Clyde below!
What is your day-to-day like?
My day usually starts out by reviewing my to-do lists for the projects and tasks that need to be addressed that day. I look over my schedule and contribute to any regularly scheduled virtual meetings with other VHP groups. I often facilitate meetings, both virtually and occasionally in person, with different team members from the Pharmacy department and our sub-departments. I also have virtual meetings and conference calls with BCBSLA. My daily duties also include connecting and facilitating rebates or contracting with manufacturers of drugs and products provided to our members.
Once a week I see patients at the Affinity Population Health Clinic and provide telehealth visits for smoking cessation therapy. There are many situations that arise during the day that are unique to that day, but they are addressed and delegated out when possible. Vantage and Affinity are blessed that we have a knowledgeable and friendly group of pharmacists, pharmacy techs, support staff, and students who are devoted to making health care work for our members.

What do you like most about your role?
My favorite aspect of my job is that I can work with many different healthcare professionals daily in improving our people’s health, while working towards better care and keeping drug costs down. This saves our members money and allows them to spend on their families and other aspects that are important to them!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love attending Bible study and participating in Gospel Ministry work, but family activities are high priority as well. I also enjoy hunting, playing guitar, and singing.
