Volunteering has allowed Vantage employees to engage with the communities where we work and put our commitment to service in action. From participating in charity events to working with non-profit organizations, Vantage has been able to find unique ways to give back and better serve our members. Getting involved is easier than you think!
Why Volunteer?
You probably know that volunteering is good for the people you are helping, but did you know that volunteering is beneficial for you too? Research shows that volunteering to help others in your community can make you a healthier and happier person as well. Volunteering is closely connected to health, from increased longevity to reduced risk of Alzheimer’s, and even weight loss! Vantage is proud to be a part of the movement toward active volunteering.
Here are a few organizations Vantage partners with!
The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana
The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana is 1 of 5 food banks in Louisiana that serves 12 parishes. Last year, Vantage had over 30 employees come together to help pack holiday food for members of the community. In just 45 minutes, the volunteers packed over 800 boxes of food for families across the area. It doesn’t take much time to make a huge difference! Habitat for Humanity of Ouachita
Our employees volunteer with Habitat for Humanity monthly. Habitat for Humanity of Ouachita is a nonprofit organization that works to eliminate substandard housing. Houses are built and then sold to families at affordable rates. By volunteering for a few hours each month, we can connect and engage with members of the community. MedCamps of Louisiana
MedCamps of Louisiana hosts camps each summer for children with chronic illnesses and disabilities. These camps have no fee and provide campers a fun, recreational experience. Fundraisers are hosted each year to support summer camps. Vantage is proud to be sponsoring a fundraising event in August. The COVID-19 epidemic canceled summer 2020 camps, but there are still plenty of ways to get involved! Click here to learn how you can support MedCamps of Louisiana.
April Tornado Relief
On Easter Sunday this year, three tornadoes touched ground in Ouachita Parish, resulting in extensive damage to several Monroe neighborhoods. It is estimated that a total of 458 homes across the parish were impacted by the tornadoes, and 23 were destroyed. Shortly after, Vantage was one of several organizations that provided food and water to the communities which were heavily affected by the storm. We were glad to provide a sense of hope to those who were affected. Vantage will always be grateful for the opportunities to be on the frontlines helping others in their time of need.
Angel Tree Program
Last Christmas, Vantage and Affinity adopted 30 angels from the Angel Tree Program. This program is hosted by the Salvation Army and works to provide Christmas gifts to children in need. Even though Christmas is months away, donations and volunteers are always appreciated! Click here to learn how you can support the Angel Tree Program.
